The telecom boom in China is taking its toll now. Apple’s iPhone factory is now taking notice of the increasing number of suicides by its workers. The telecommunication giant employs nearly 300,000 workers. Long working hours, increased overtimes, and long absence from home have all contributed to increasing levels of stress which are reaching the point of breaking which provokes workers to go for such extreme actions. The Taiwan based company has started to take remedial measures by hiking salaries, appointing councilors and reducing the overtime from 90 hours to just half.
Apple has just released its new iOS 4.1 beta 2 operating system which is tailor made for developers.This newly released OS is compatible with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, and so also the third generation iPod touch. And finally the issue of proximity which was seen with the iPhone 4 has not been still fixed or the matter is still not clear.
There is more good news for book lovers. Barnes & Noble is making its eReader app compatible with iPhone, and Apple’s iPod. It will add on to the apps already available in iPad, PC, and Android powered devices. There are many other additional features like the last-page-read synchronization across all platforms, new reading preference settings. These are very user friendly features and will cause less reading strain and so also make reading a pleasure. It is a matter of time before these features are available in for the iPhone when the iPhone 4’s Retina Display is released.

Because of the shortage in components, Apple has said that white models of iphone 4 have been delayed again until later this year. The company had earlier said that the white Iphone4 will be available in late July. However, black models remain unaffected, apple said. Due to shortage of parts, Apple stopped taking preorders after taking over 600,000 in just one day. Apple also said that it would give away free bump cases to iphone 4 owners to alleviate antenna problems that occur in it.

In a ruling that will be good news to most customers and bad news to the manufacturers, a federal ruling said it is legal to jailbreak a device or alter a phone to install unapproved software. The Library of congress said it is legal to circumvent a phone’s controls on what applications a device will run. There are over a million Iphone users who have jailbreaked their phone to change wireless provider. The ruling also said that unlocking a phone for it to run on different carriers’ network is legal.
