Countless times we have seen how the handset was remarked by Steve Jobs himself as being available in the near future. Now we have heard disappoitment with the white iPhone 4 being delayed due to manufacturing concerns.
The end of offering of give away free cases to iPhone 4 owners is confirmed by Apple. It is because of the antenna issue that was not as severe as the company had suspected. But after the launch of the iPhone 4, many users began reporting dropped calls when they tend to cover the lower left corner of the device through their hand, resulting to a distorted wireless signal. Reports released a review saying that it had found a hardware defect in the design of the antenna. As a solution to the problem, the users are prohibited from touching certain areas of the antenna.

Apple is releasing a software update for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch devices which is expected to bring new features like a wireless printing to its valued users. The iOS 4.2 has been announced by the Cupertino, a Calif.-based company, which will include “AirPrint” – a certain feature that automatically finds wireless-enabled printers on local connections and even local networks. The newest features and advanced functionality will make the product more simple and seamless for dedicated Apple users anywhere.
It has been some time now that the rumors of a smaller iPad have been making rounds. According to the Economic Daily News a new iPad with a seven inch screen and with the iPad’s IPS technology is being made by Chimei Innolux, the touch screen components provided by Cando Corp and is being assembled by Compal Electronics. The HBO channel has also informed that HBO GO will be available on all cable operated system, on the iPad. YouTube brought out its own universal player for the iPad and the iPhone and is christened Vimeo.
The telecom boom in China is taking its toll now. Apple’s iPhone factory is now taking notice of the increasing number of suicides by its workers. The telecommunication giant employs nearly 300,000 workers. Long working hours, increased overtimes, and long absence from home have all contributed to increasing levels of stress which are reaching the point of breaking which provokes workers to go for such extreme actions. There is more good news for book lovers. Barnes & Noble is making its eReader app compatible with iPhone, and Apple’s iPod. It will add on to the apps already available in iPad, PC, and Android powered devices. There are many other additional features like the last-page-read synchronization across all platforms, new reading preference settings. These are very user friendly features and will cause less reading strain and so also make reading a pleasure. It is a matter of time before these features are available in for the iPhone when the iPhone 4’s Retina Display is released.
Because of the shortage in components, Apple has said that white models of iphone 4 have been delayed again until later this year. The company had earlier said that the white Iphone4 will be available in late July. However, black models remain unaffected, apple said. Due to shortage of parts, Apple stopped taking preorders after taking over 600,000 in just one day. Apple also said that it would give away free bump cases to iphone 4 owners to alleviate antenna problems that occur in it.
In a ruling that will be good news to most customers and bad news to the manufacturers, a federal ruling said it is legal to jailbreak a device or alter a phone to install unapproved software. The Library of congress said it is legal to circumvent a phone’s controls on what applications a device will run. There are over a million Iphone users who have jailbreaked their phone to change wireless provider. The ruling also said that unlocking a phone for it to run on different carriers’ network is legal.
